The Antankarana are located in the northwest of Madagascar. Missionaries Michael and Michelle recently had the opportunity of working outside the Antankarana area, in the northeast area of Madagascar. They were amazed at the responsiveness of the people to the gospel and the obvious fertile ground. There is a missionary request to work in this fertile ground area. They are praying this request would be fulfilled so that this harvest field can be worked. But after seeing this spiritual harvest field, Michael and Michelle were reminded of how hard the ground is in the Antankarana area. Islam, ancestor worship, demonic possession are just some of the things that make the Antankarana hard to reach. But with God all things are possible and by prayer hard ground can be softened. Michael and Michelle are calling out for prayer warriors to pray for the Antankarana’s hearts to be softened so that they might hear the Good News of Jesus and be saved. May the Lord be glorified among the Antankarana!
Recently, Michael, Michelle, Andrew & Christina, missionaries working to reach the Antankarana and the Sakalava of the North of Madagascar, have noticed how the enemy seems to be at work. Too often when it is time to go out and tell people about Jesus something goes wrong – the house plumbing messes up, there is flat tire, the door knob breaks while a child in stuck in the bathroom, etc. Pray for these workers not to be discouraged, but pray also that the enemy’s schemes would be thwarted as they persevere and go out and boldly proclaim the name Jesus and disciple new believers in these unreached areas.
