Team Northern Madagascar’s desire and goal is to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the peoples in northern Madagascar, as part of the Great Commission. To make disciples who will make disciples, to plant churches that will plant churches. We are technically responsible for five people groups (PGs): Northern Sakalava, Antankarana, Northern Betsimisaraka, Sihanaka, and Tsimihety, but since the population of northern Madagascar includes people from all PGs, we seek to make disciples of all the people in our area. All these PGs practice ancestor worship, and even self proclaimed Christians often syncretize these traditional beliefs with Christianity. Almost all the Antankarana and some Sakalava practice “folk” Islam, which is more of a cultural Islam, syncretized with ancestor worship. We currently have missionaries living in Mahajanga. Please pray for more missionaries to join Team NoMad in order to live life among and reach the Sakalava, Antankarana, Betsimisaraka and the Sihanaka people groups with the gospel.

1) Please pray for our Team NoMad families to rely fully on the Lord for strength, wisdom, love, and perseverance. As a team, we realize that we can’t do the work the Lord has called us to apart from daily abiding in Christ and walking in the full armor of God. Please pray that we would be spiritually ready for all we encounter in the north of Madagascar, because thousands of souls are at stake.

2) Please pray that God would raise up reproducing disciples who are called by God to lead reproducing churches from the peoples of Northern Madagascar.

3) “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Please join us in praying for more workers to join Team NoMad. Approximately 5 million people live in our area and are desperate to hear about the gospel, to learn from the Bible, and to be given an opportunity to accept God’s gift of salvation.

  1. So exciting to hear that the Bible study in Mahamasina has doubled! God is so awesome. Praying for refreshment for Team NoMad over the next two weeks and that God will keep the momentum going in Mahamasina!

    • It is so good to see the faces of those who represent your ministry field. Praying for amazing opportunities and open hearts as you connect with these precious people. Praying still for rain and moisture and that God would get the Glory for meeting the needs of His people.

  2. Even though we plan to be there this summer, we already are engaged with your nation. We pray for a harvest and faithful ministry before, during, and after our time there. And when we see Madagascar in the news, we continue to pray. God will be faithful. And I pray that we will be able to quickly overcome any ways that Jesus’ name and kingdom and work are resisted. He is working.
