Adopt a UUPG for Prayer

from Madagascar, Namibia or South Africa

 What is a UUPG?

UUPG= Unengaged Unreached People Group                                                                                                            Unengaged= No one is implementing an on-going strategy to reach them with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Unreached= <2% are Christian

As ambassadors for Christ, every Christian understands the Great Commission given to us  – “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19)  Revelation 7:9 tells us there will be a great multitude of people from every nation, tribe, people and language standing before the throne”.  Africa is a HUGE continent, and there are literally millions of people who still have not heard a clear witness of God’s love for them and his gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.   Within Two Oceans Cluster, we have identified 10 UUPGs with over 100,000 people in each. This is unacceptable and we need your help to change that number!

Would your small group or church be willing to make a world of difference by adopting a UUPG for Prayer?

Here’s what you could expect:

  • *Connection with one of our Africa field workers
  • *Pointers on “How To Pray for UUPGs”
  • *To promote this UUPG in your group/church
  • *To do some research online to better educate pray-ers about your people group
  • *Receive a report as information is gathered through surveys or trips to the area or through meeting these people
  • *As these people are ‘unengaged’, we do not have a worker living among them, or presently targeting them with an ongoing plan for evangelism and church planting. Therefore, new information may not be sent often. Sometimes this is due to their remote location, geographic challenges, or resistance to the gospel. After browsing through the UUPG profiles, talk & pray with others about which people to adopt. We ask you to take your prayer adoption seriously – these people need to hear about Jesus. We’ll help you with ideas on how to keep it fresh, but it will require consistency and some effort on your part to keep your group praying. Prayer, without lots of information, can be challenging, but it is foundational and can be the ground-breaking action that begins a good work among an Unengaged Unreached People Group!
