“More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and conisder them filth, so that I may gain Christ…” Phil. 3:8 HCSB
Exciting days have come to the Garden Route! A group of 55 students/leaders from the US and South Africa have descended upon the farming community of Oudtshoorn (Oats-who-rn) from June 29 – July 08. These International World Changers have taken the theme of ‘Dangerous Prayers’ to the streets of Bongolethu (Bongo-le-two), home to the Xhosa people and those of the Coloured Community. This particular IWC project has focused primarily on students/young people (ages 15-24) sharing Christ with other students and young people of the same age.
You may ask, “What are Dangerous Prayers?” They are prayers lifted up to God our Father by believers who count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus their Lord, including feeling tied to the culture, possessions, fame, relationships, suffering and even martyrdom. For 5 weeks, IWCers have been looking at how this theme has been reflected through the lives of various Bible personalities – Jesus as the ultimate model.
Saturday, July 07: Sixth day of ministry! Focus on Youth Rally!!
- Pray for entire IWC team as they participate in the Youth Rally tonight at the Community Hall.
- Dangerous Prayers – Pray many young people will attend the Rally and will respond as the Gospel is shared!
- Dangerous Prayers – Pray IWC team will encourage new believers in their walk with Christ.
- Dangerous Prayers – Pray for good counseling to take place with new believers.
Counting all things as loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
