In January of 2012 another English second Language class was started in Salt River section of Cape Town. The adults attending this class are from war-torn Burundi and the Congo. These people came to Cape Town to escape the atrocities of the war in their countries to find peace and safety in South Africa. Many of them walked for weeks to get to South Africa. These people have been found and brought together by a young man who is also from Burundi and who shares the love of Jesus with them. Many of them are Christians and they are all seeking safety, peace, and jobs. These believers are the doors to other refugees who are not Christ followers. They are also children of God seeking a better life. Learning English is a step towards getting jobs and a better quality of life. Pray for these refugees that they may come to know Jesus, that they will find peace and comfort in his sheltering arms, and that they may learn English quickly so they can provide for their families. Pray also for Ronnie and Gail as they seek to minister to these and other refugees while they teach English and train these people to be disciples of Christ.
