New Opportunities for Engagement & Repentance

New Opportunities for Engagement & Repentance

K & F were invited to a wedding in a community where they have been ministering lately.   A young man, whom they have been discipling, shared boldly with the H**du guests.

The Lord brought K & F to a sari shop on the east coast of the island in a strong H**du town to start discipleship with a new believer.

A friend of K & F invited them to share with a doctor who was open to spiritual conversation. This meeting turned into weeping repentance as she placed her faith in Jesus.

Will you pray for K & F as they go into spiritually dark areas where the Gospel has yet to go?

  • Pray for strength and stamina
  • Pray against spiritual opposition
  • Pray for them as they enter the last trimester of pregnancy for F
  • Pray against discouragement as they encounter obstacles

Bouncing Brain

Bouncing Brain

Every rut, every rock, every turn made my brain feel like it was bouncing inside my skull. At the end of the longest day, my whole body felt out of sorts and I wasn’t sure if my head would stop hurting. I never felt like I was in such bad condition that I needed medical attention, but a few times I wondered, “What in the world are we doing!” You see, a few weeks ago our family spent two weeks traveling around the Southern part of Madagascar visiting national partners, new churches, teammates and taking care of a few errands. We we’re on the road anywhere from 4-11 hours in a single day with some days interspersed of little to no travel. The saying rang true for us that the people are “unreached for a reason.” The roads are terrible! There are a few nice stretches but others were nearly impassable. As you pray for the people of South Madagascar today, ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers from the fields. Pray more nationals would continue to evangelize and make disciples. We’re seeing the beginnings of a movement, but it won’t come without resistance from the enemy. Pray these national believers will be able to stand firm as each and their respective families are persecuted and face spiritual warfare like never before.

Stuck in Darkness

Stuck in Darkness

The Tswana people living in the North West Province of South Africa are a friendly, easy-going people. They have had a Bible in their language for over a hundred years.  They have access to the Gospel.  Still, they are considered “unreached,” as less than 2% of the population are true believers of Jesus Christ.

Most Tswana people remain entrenched in ancestor worship.  Their culture demands they spend their lives striving to please the “living dead.”  The ancestors are the ones believed to hold power over life & death, blessings & curses.

We serve a God who says, “I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Savior but Me”  (Is. 43:11).  Stand with me against the “god of this world who has blinded the minds of the unbelieving” (2 Cor. 4:4).  Pray for a mighty movement of God’s Spirit among the Tswana of South Africa!

The Lord said, “Get up! Walk throughout the length and breadth of the land, because I’m going to give it to you.” Genesis 13:17

Wow! What an exciting verse!  God has made a plan for all Namibian people and He has chosen to involve us in reaching them! Namibia is a large nation that covers 318,261 square miles in southern Africa but has a sparse population due to its harsh living conditions.  For all the people of Namibia to have the opportunity to know and follow Jesus, believers need to be willing to purposely go out and  share Jesus “throughout the length and breadth of the land”.  Please pray that Namibian believers will hear God’s call, become excited by what God wants to do in this nation, and be a part of God’s Holy Spirit moving throughout this land.

Pray for the City of Pretoria, South Africa

Our family is excited about our upcoming move to Pretoria! Our role and job title in Pretoria will be “Urban Catalyst,” targeting unreached segments of Pretoria. Pretoria is the nation’s administrative capital, and carries with it immense weight of national and global influence. It is seen as the center of impact for South Africa because of its political presence as it hosts the President and his capital. It is home to a myriad of people groups and areas still without a viable gospel presence. We couldn’t be more excited to be given the opportunity to invest our lives in this new location! God has done amazing things where we currently are living on our island through the tools we’ve learned from T4T, and now we will be doing this very thing in South Africa. Of course, there are many logistics that need to be worked out now, so we would ask that you PLEASE pray for us and our move. The most urgent prayer request is for our SA visas. Recently there has been some difficulty with some of our folks obtaining visas into SA. We know that God is the One who leads us in victory, so we believe that He will go before us on this.

Houses of Peace

Houses of Peace

Tucked away behind several middle class neighborhoods is a subdivision of 300 families known as “Cité Anoshka”. This subdivision is made up of shacks, made of metal sheets, with floors of red dirt. For several weeks faithful disciples of Jesus walked their streets and prayed that God would transform this collection of families from one of demon possession, idol worship, prostitution, alcoholism to a beacon of light in the community. These families are poor, uneducated, unemployed and for the most part unemployable.

As these faithful disciples walked and prayed they found a “person of peace” who quickly turned out to have a “home of peace,” and plans were in place to return to share the Good News of the Gospel with surrounding family members. But, one week later the family of peace was devastated when they discovered that their 6-year old daughter had been murdered and cut into pieces and left in the community as a warning sign for welcoming the Christians into their home.

After much prayer, comforting, and multiple continued visits to pray in the community, a new house of peace was made available for weekly meetings to learn about Jesus. We have distributed 10 audio Bibles in French and have begun meetings in the house of peace on Wednesday evenings. Pray that God would truly transform this community and that God would continue to comfort the family who lost their daughterCite Anoshka1

Day to Day

Day to Day

“Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.” Psalm 96:2

Proclaim His Salvation Day to Day!

Proclaim His Salvation Day to Day!

Pray with us that the Lord’s name is exalted across the countries of the Ocean2Ocean cluster, that believers in these countries and islands will rise up and proclaim the good news of His salvation every day.

Move Powerfully

Move Powerfully

CPM Training Prayer Prompt #21

21. Lord, We ask for the Holy Spirit to come upon each brother and sister in attendance and hundreds/thousands others like them, to burst forth His Word/ways/Kingdom all over southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands! That He will move powerfully in, through, among, and far beyond us!

Move powerfully, Lord, throughout the Ocean2Ocean Cluster!

Move powerfully, Lord, throughout the Ocean2Ocean Cluster!

20. Holy Father, we pray that we will each be yielded to You, that we each will recognize and set aside fleshly desires (whether for comfort or recognition or whatever) and wrong motivations, that Your Kingdom will come, Your Will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.

19. Oh God, we pray that the Holy Spirit will have free reign among us, both individually and corporately. That the Holy Spirit will guide not only each teacher in what to say, but also each listener in what he/she needs to grab hold of and apply in his/her life. “[the Spirit of Truth] … will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever he hears He will speak…” Jn 16:13

18. Almighty God, we pray that You will come and meet with us and teach us, Your people, we need You… for “unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Ps 127:1

17. Lord, I pray that the believers from the Ocean2Ocean area will be unified, finding endurance and encouragement, during their time together, that they will be better prepared to serve where God has called them, that His name may be glorified. “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6
16. Father, we ask that You’d fulfill Psalm 86:11 in those attending CPM Training, “Teach them Your way, that they may walk in Your truths. Give them an undivided heart that they may fear Your name.”

15. Oh God, we pray that our hearts will be humble and teachable; willing to adjust our lives and plans to the Father’s Heart. We pray that we will come to this training with a burden for the lost in our people group.

14. Almighty God, we ask You to bring into our lives right now situations, encounters, ministry observations and opportunities that will tune our spiritual eyes and heart to the truths that His Spirit works in ways that are beyond our control, understanding, expectations or imagination to accomplish His will and work. Lord, make us desperate for a new work of Your Spirit in our life and ministry. Renew/restore Jesus as our first love and to fill us with the expectation that “if you ask the Father for anything, He will give it to you in Jesus name…and you will receive that your joy may be made full.” John 16:23, 24

13. Lord, prepare my heart to hear from you about what you want to do in my life and in my ministry. Prepare me not to cling to traditions of the past and present. Instead prepare me to have an open heart which accepts and embraces any changes you want for my life and ministry.

12. God, we pray for health! This training is long – a jam-packed two weeks – we can’t lag behind, physically or spiritually. Pray against spiritual oppression!

11. “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chron. 16:9 Pray for the hearts of those coming to the training to be fully committed. Pray for safety for those that are traveling, and safety for the those that are remaining at home.

10. Oh Sovereign and Holy Lord, cleanse us from anything that is keeping us from abiding in You. We want to walk forth in the fear of the Lord. Pray 2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God that this spirit may be found in you.”

9. Heavenly Father, we cry out for Your salvation to be boldly proclaimed! We pray that You will use this training to save many! We pray for an abundant and reckless God-glorifying sharing of the Gospel across the Ocean2Ocean Cluster.

8. Lord, let the hearts of the Ocean2Ocean personnel be fully Yours, honest and humble. Pray 1 Kings 8:58,60 “that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers… so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no one else.”

7. Oh God, we pray that each of us would so abide in Christ and His Word, that we are totally dependent on Him in faith to carry out our ministry.

6. Sovereign Lord, we pray that each of us would live in the anticipation of You raising up among our people groups persons who will multiply the gospel thirty, sixty, and even one hundred times.

5. Heavenly Father, we pray that application of the material will be a priority for all of us as we seek to apply it and agree with your process for church planting. Help us as life and daily schedules will have to be adjusted and priorities will have to change. Enable national partners to contextualize the material so that it will be applied effectively and widely.

4. Almighty God, we pray that You would open our eyes and hearts to prepare us to implement ways of reaching those to whom you called us to witness and disciple.

3. Lord, we pray that each of us will live in anticipation of an Acts type movement within our cluster. A unified, spirit empowered and emboldened walk and ministry, which ultimately brings glory to You and the salvation of many souls.

2. Father, prepare our heart and mind for the material we will be learning. We desire to be spiritually prepared so that we will be full of faith and of the Spirit. Pray that we will be sponges ready to absorb ALL that God has for us.

1. Heavenly Father, we pray that our hearts will mirror your heart for the lost. We pray that we will truly be broken for the lost as we seek ways to reach out to them.

Reaching Out to the Unreached

Reaching Out to the Unreached

The Herero people of  Namibia have an approximate population of 250,000 and less than 2% of that population are believers in Jesus Christ.  As a people group, they remain heavily steeped in traditional ancestor worship and mystical ceremonies.  Recently, Hunga, a 19 year old Herero/Himba man, joined our young adult Training for Trainers (T4T) group.  A few weeks into the training, he reported to the group that he had dreamt that he was speaking to his people, the Hereros, about Jesus and was being persecuted because of it.

“But when the Holy Spirit comes to you, you will receive power. You will be my witnesses--in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world." Acts 1:8

“But when the Holy Spirit comes to you, you will receive power. You will be my witnesses–in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.” Acts 1:8

Hunga began to feel a strong urging from the Holy Spirit that he needed to go share Jesus with the Herero from his home town, so during his university break, he headed to Opuwo in northwest Namibia.  He was given permission to speak in the local high school and six students asked Jesus to be their Lord and Saviour!  Please continue praying for the Herero of Namibia to have receptive hearts to the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Also, please ask God to protect Hunga in every way from Satan’s plans to discount him from sharing Jesus with his people.
